KOTA KINABALU: Sebatik MP Hassan Gani quits Warisan to become an independent in favor of the ruling government after seeing no real direction for the party.
He said the move is to further stabilize the country’s political climate and subsequently flatten the COVID19 curve which he noted should be in every leaders top priority.
“Warisan has been drumming the same beat as Pakatan Harapan for years. It is one that puts political interests first before the people’s welfare.
Hassan in a statement issued yesterday expressed disappointment in the party’s leadership after “analyzing the nation’s developments since September 2020”.
“Warisan rejected the tabling of Budget 2021 which was people-centric.
“A few leaders intentions of leading a coup.
“Top down to grassroots, leaders stopped holding meetings to discuss the party’s future,” were among his disputes.
The N.73 man said leadership fell short in coming up with initiatives to help folk affected by the pandemic in any parliamentary.
Hassan meanwhile pledged support to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
