Vaccination for welfare workers, elderly and disabled in phase two, says women’s ministry

KUALA LUMPUR (NSTP): Vaccination for Welfare Department workers, the elderly and the disabled would be done in phase two of the national vaccination plan, and not in phase one as earlier reported.

The Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry today clarified this error, which was made in a media statement by its minister, Datuk Seri Rina Harun on Feb 16.

“There was a factual error in the statement on the vaccination phases involving Welfare Department workers, the elderly and the disabled in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

“Welfare Department workers, the elderly and the disabled are phase two vaccine recipients, and not phase one as mentioned in the earlier statement.

“Any inconvenience is greatly regretted,” the ministry said in a statement today.

It added that further information on the immunisation programme could be obtained from the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Handbook, which can be downloaded from www.vaksincovid.gov.my. SOURCE:NSTP
